above are Les and tag team partner, Dennis Hall who won the NWA World Tag
Team Championship together in 1968. 35 years later this tandem is still
winning things together as they were presented "The Legend
Award" at The Gulf Coast Wrestler's Reunion in March of 2004.

This
photo is of Les after having fire thrown in his face by Inferno manager JC
Dykes, and was what brought this fued to a head on the Charlotte Coliseum
Christmas show December 25, 1967. Notice Thatcher is missing his left
eyebrow.

Les holds up the hands

managed by JC Dykes. Thatcher was called on to finish refing this bout
when the regular referee was knocked out. Just moments after this was
shot, The masked men grabbed Les and Dykes threw the fire in his face,
thus the start of their long running battles. |
